Day 1 – At the arrival to the Luang Prabang international airport or Luang Prabang Railway Station you will meet with the local staff that will take you to the Home Base where comfortable simplicity meets nature. This is a harbor of peace in the heart of one of Luang Prabang large gardens managed with ecological and environmental respect.  There you will meet other travelers and get settled into your new home.

 

Day 2 - 8:00AM Breakfast at a Local Café.

20 minutes Orientation after breakfast. Basic Lao language expressions will be offered allowing you to connect with locals. You can learn more about important Lao cultural norms for getting ready to spend your time with respect for Lao people. Collect more details for the programs in the schedule for the next two weeks here in Luang Prabang and the area. In addition, an overview is provided for possible volunteering activities offering you the opportunity to leave a little mark in Laos while gaining a heart filling experience. In the afternoon, a walking city tour will be held to let you familiarize with this ancient city or world heritage.

Visit the Royal Palace Museum to learn about the history of Laos and the former royal family.

*Wat Xieng Thong: Head to this iconic temple, known for its impressive architecture and intricate mosaics.

*Lunch at a Riverside Restaurant* Enjoy local Lao cuisine at a restaurant by the Mekong River.  *Wat Mai Suwannaphumaham*: Visit this temple, famous for its gold-covered bas-relief and beautiful interior.Traditional Arts and Ethnology Centre*: Learn about the diverse ethnic groups of Laos through exhibits and interactive displays.

*Evening* Mount Phousi*: Climb to the top of Mount Phousi for panoramic views of Luang Prabang and a beautiful sunset.

*Night Market*: Explore the vibrant night market, where you can shop for local handicrafts, textiles, and souvenirs. Enjoy street food for dinner.

 

Day 3 - Experience Laos School or School monks for the first half day. 

When you volunteer at a village school, you’ll see traditional rural Lao live up close.  You may arrive as a stranger, but when you assist the local teachers and interact with the kids, you’ll become a friend. Maybe you’ll teach an English class on your own. Most important, you could influence the children to consider an alternative future. Spend the time at the school with the children. After lunch. Observe how they live and how they adapt themselves to survive in nowadays world.

*Lunch at a Garden Café* Enjoy a leisurely lunch in a serene garden setting.*Wat Phon Phao*: Visit this peaceful temple on a hill for a tranquil experience and great views of the surrounding area.

*Evening: *Bamboo Bridge* If visiting during the dry season, take a stroll across the seasonal bamboo bridge for a unique experience.

*Dinner at a Fusion Restaurant*: Enjoy a meal that blends traditional Lao flavors with modern culinary techniques.

 

Day 4 – Nature and Adventure.

*Morning: *Kuang Si Waterfall*: Take a trip to Kuang Si Waterfall, one of the most stunning natural attractions in the area. You can swim in the turquoise pools, hike to the top of the falls, or visit the bear sanctuary nearby.

*Afternoon: Have a picnic lunch at Kuang Si Waterfall or a nearby restaurant. On the way back to Luang Prabang, stop at the Butterfly Park to see beautiful butterflies and learn about their conservation. And The silverware village is waiting for our visit. Here you will see how the local artisans stamp and hammer silver or nickel into real marvels for the eye. A workshop will be held for you to discover this ancient craft. Get to know more about the history of Luang Prabang the 718 years old city, by visiting some of its museums.

*Evening: Dinner at a Traditional Lao Restaurant. Savor a traditional Lao meal at one of the recommended restaurants in town.

Day 5 – Exploration and Learning.

*Morning: *Pak Ou Caves*: Take a boat trip up the Mekong River to the Pak Ou Caves, which are filled with thousands of Buddha statues. Enjoy the scenic boat ride and explore the caves.

*Afternoon: Have lunch at a riverside restaurant with views of the Mekong.*Phosy Market*

Visit this local market to see a wide variety of goods, from fresh produce to traditional crafts. *Ock Pop Tok Living Crafts Centre* Learn about Lao textiles and participate in a hands-on weaving or dyeing workshop.

*Evening: *Spa Treatment*: Relax with a traditional Lao massage or spa treatment at one of Luang Prabang’s top spas.

*Dinner Cruise on the Mekong River*: End your day with a dinner cruise on the Mekong River, enjoying the serene views and delicious Lao cuisine.

 

Day 6 – Wake up early for getting to see the impressive moment of the sunrise on the top of the mountain. The scenery of the ancient city of Luang prabang from the famous Doi Mount Phousi temple is waiting for you. Seeing the locals offer their alms, the giving, to the Buddhist monks. Joining that ritual could be one of the very memorable moments of your trip. Later, spend the time at one of the morning markets. Explore and see the rich selection of goods the morning market offers to the people. What kind of food do people have for their breakfast? Let’s find out and taste them too!

*Breakfast at a Riverside Café. Enjoy a leisurely breakfast by the river.*Wat Siphouthabath*: Visit this less-visited temple for a quiet and reflective experience.

*Afternoon: Lunch at a Local Eatery, savor your last meal in Luang Prabang at a popular local restaurant.

*MandaLao Elephant Conservation*: Spend the afternoon at MandaLao, an ethical elephant sanctuary. Learn about elephant conservation and interact with these gentle giants.

*Evening: Farewell Dinner. Have a farewell dinner at one of Luang Prabang’s best restaurants, reflecting on your experiences.*Night Market*: If time permits, make a final visit to the night market for last-minute shopping.
